Campfrie volunteerVolunteers are vital to Camp Fire USA! Just a few hours of volunteer time each month can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth. Camp Fire youth and adult volunteers are provided with training materials and staff support. As a volunteer, you'll give service to others, get involved in your community, be recognized for your achievement and - last, but not least - have some fun yourself.

Volunteer Opportunities

Be a mentor, volunteer to help with homework, read with a child or just be there to listen during one of our after-school drop in centers.

Monday – Thursday 3 pm – 5 pm

  • Club Leaders/Assistant Leaders
    You are good with and enjoy children - being a Leader or an Assistant is fun and rewarding. Club Leaders are  the heart of Camp Fire.

  • Area Service Team Manager
    This is an opportunity to be helping children and their Leaders. You will supervise and support the area service team members with their clubs, promote the club programs and assist in training and recruitment. You will coordinate area leader meetings, and maintain communication between team members and staff. 3-5 hours a week.

  • Product Sale Manager
    Children learn business skills and gain confidence through our annual Product Sale. As Product Sales Manager you will be entrusted with the responsibilities of training leaders throughout the product sale campaign providing them with continuing support. Your organizational skills and enthusiasm will help the clubs to meet or exceed the sale goal. 2-3 hours a week during product sale time.

  • Registration Manager
    You will help and support individual leaders with registrations at their meetings during fall and spring. 5 hours a month in fall and spring.

  • Special Events Coordinator
    This position gives you an opportunity to be creative and resourceful. You will help the area service team and leaders to plan and organize special events for Camp Fire USA. 2 hours a week varying with each event.

  • Teens In Action Facilitator
    Enjoy working with teens! Then this is the job for you. You will advise and empower teens to plan, organize and implement their club and community service projects. 5 hours a month.

  • Camp Opportunities
    Whatever your experience we have an opportunity at our camp for you! Working with arts and crafts, nature, aquatics, gymnastics, sports, cooking, camp counseling, challenge course and much more. Summer camp runs June through August but opportunities abound at camp throughout the year.

Partnerships
Camp Fire USA provides a variety of programs and resources for use in collaboration with community organizations, schools and places of worship. The possibilities for partnerships are limitless.

Partnership opportunities include sponsoring:

  • Retreats or other special events for teen-agers, adults, and more using Camp Fire USA camp facilities and program materials.

  • Before and after school care programs.

  • A special short-term course that teaches self-reliance skills.

  • A club program in school that can be enjoyed by boys and girls together.

  • Summer child care at a religious facility using Camp Fire USA program materials.

  • Outreach programs to special groups of youth who have no youth programming available to them.

  • Clubs for neighborhood children in the setting of a religious facility.

  • Camp Fire USA Teens in Action materials used to enhance existing youth ministry programs for high school students.

 

 

  • Campfire summer staffInternships Available
    Opportunities abound for the college student looking for experience in a non-for-profit setting. Internships are available in areas such as Communications, PR, Marketing, Special Events, Administrative Role, Education, Computers, etc. Contact us to learn more about how Camp Fire can help you!

  • Self Reliance Instructor
    This position involves teaching a pre-planned six week curriculum to elementary school children. You
    will teach the Self Reliance course in area schools and other places in the community. Previous experience working with children helpful. 3-5 hours a week.

  • Campfire staff requirementsCamp Glen Summer Staff
    Summer positions are available at Camp Glen located outside Tiffin, Ohio on the Sandusky River. Positions available include: 

    • Assistant Camp Director

    • Counselors

    • Waterfront Staff

    • Outdoor Living Skills Director

    • Arts and Crafts Director

    • Health Care Manager

    • Head Cook

    • Cooks Helper
